Tessera essentials
Clear expectations from the beginning.
Is Tessera a telemedicine-only practice?+
Tessera is launching as a telemedicine-first practice throughout Florida. Scheduled house calls are also available exclusively through the Signature, Gold, and Diamond concierge memberships for eligible members who live in Sarasota or Manatee County. Other patients receive clinically appropriate care virtually and will be directed to local in-person evaluation whenever an examination, procedure, diagnostic service, or urgent assessment is needed.
Where must I be during an appointment?+
You must be physically located in Florida at the time of every Tessera visit. Tessera cannot provide diagnosis, treatment, or prescribing while you are outside Florida.
How does the Florida Location Attestation work?+
Before every clinical appointment, the patient must electronically attest that they are physically located in Florida and are either a Florida resident or a visitor currently in the state. The physician will reconfirm and document the patient's current Florida location at the beginning of the visit.
Can Medicare beneficiaries enroll?+
No. Tessera is not currently accepting individuals enrolled in Original Medicare Part A or Part B, Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Medicare Part C, or Railroad Medicare. Eligibility is confirmed before any membership is accepted.
Who qualifies for concierge house calls?+
Signature, Gold, and Diamond concierge memberships are available only to eligible non-Medicare adults who maintain a residence in Sarasota County or Manatee County. The residential service address is confirmed before acceptance. House calls are scheduled by appointment and are subject to membership benefits, safety, physician availability, and clinical appropriateness.
Does membership replace health insurance?+
No. Tessera membership is not health insurance. Patients should maintain appropriate coverage for hospital care, emergency care, specialists, diagnostic services, prescriptions, and other services outside Tessera.
What can a Virtual Sick Visit address?+
A Virtual Sick Visit may be appropriate for a focused minor illness, a new symptom, a medication question, or another concern that can be safely evaluated by video. The physician may recommend testing, an in-person examination, urgent care, or emergency care when virtual treatment is not appropriate.
Is Tessera an urgent-care or emergency service?+
No. Tessera offers appointment-based visits for appropriate non-emergency concerns, but it is not a 24/7 urgent-care or emergency service. Call 911 or seek the nearest emergency department for a medical emergency.
How quickly can I schedule?+
Members receive same or next-business-day scheduling when clinically appropriate and subject to physician availability. Exact care hours and communication standards are provided during enrollment.
